During the pandemic, when the whole World came to a still, the impact was seen on the efficiency of ISRO too. But since normalcy is coming back, ISRO has announced to launch of Five revolutionary space missions by the end of 2025. Let's know how these upcoming space missions could change the world.

1. Aditya L-1

Aditya L-1 is India's first space mission to study the Sun. It will be put in the halo orbit around Lagrangian Point Ll, which is 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. It will study the outer layer of the Sun - Corona, as well as the solar emissions, solar winds, and Coronal Mass Ejections (CME). This mission will be launched in Jan 2023. Its estimated cost is $370 crores.

2. Chandrayaan 3

Chandrayaan 3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan 2, which was launched in July 2019. Due to a last-minute software glitch, the lander crashed and the Chandrayaan 2 mission failed. Chandrayaan 3 is ISRO's third lunar exploration mission with the objectives of soft-landing and studying the Moon's surface area holistically. It is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2023. Its estimated cost is 2615 crores.

3. XPOSAT

X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XPOSAT) is a polarimetry mission to study cosmic X-rays. It will be India's 2nd astronomical observatory after Astrosat. XPOSAT will study the polarisation of radiation from the 50 brightest sources of the Universe, including Pulsars, and black holes. It is planned to be launched in early 2023.

4. Space Docking Experiment (SPADEX)

Last year, Space Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced in Parliament that by 2030, India will have its own space station. To achieve this, ISRO will launch a Space Docking experiment. Through SPADEX ISRO will attempt to launch two different satellites and try to dock them together while in space and make them function as a single unit. Docking allows flying objects in space to be physically connected. It is expected to launch in 2024.

5. Gaganyaan

Gaganyaan is ISRO's most ambitious project. It is India's first human space flight programme. The mission aimed at sending Indian astronauts to space from an indigenous Spacecraft. India will become the 4th country after the USA, Russia, and China to send humans to space. A budget of 210,000 crores has been set for the Gaganyaan mission. It is expected to be launched in 2024.
