The landing site is located in the southern polar region of the moon. It is a region that has not been explored by any other country before. The landing is scheduled to take place on August 23, 2023.

The name 'Shiv Shakti Point' was chosen by the Prime Minister to commemorate the power of Lord Shiva and the strength of Indian women. He said that the landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a testament to the "resolve and determination" of the Indian people.

"The landing site of Chandrayaan-3 will be known as Shiv Shakti Point. This is because in Shiv, there is resolution for the welfare of humanity and Shakti gives us strength to fulfil those resolutions," he said.

The Prime Minister also said that the landing of Chandrayaan-3 will be a "moment of pride" for the entire country. He said that it is a "historic moment" for India's space program.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a follow-up to the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which was launched in 2019. The Chandrayaan-2 mission was successful in sending a lander and rover to the moon, but the lander lost contact with the ground station during its final descent.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is expected to be more successful than the Chandrayaan-2 mission. It is equipped with a number of advanced sensors and instruments that will help scientists to study the lunar surface in more detail.
